Sylvia completed her BS in mathematics at UChicago. She is studying how information in retinal outputs is coarse-grained for biologically relevant computations by downstream networks. In collaboration with the Cohen lab, she is also investigating the neural population basis of flexible visual behavior by studying how different information flow between neurons guides behavior in different contexts. In her free time, Sylvia enjoys trying new recipes, reading, and being outdoors.
